I watched "Donny Brasco" on Sundance-TV last night, and noticed it was heavily edited for language.
Since when did they start this shit? I thought Sundance and IFC didn't pull this crap.

(2,805 posts)I guess they are trying to follow the success they had with AMC by adding commercials and editing for content. I used to like AMC when they showed old movies and had no commercials but I think they couldn't compete with TCM. It's all crap now.

(2,016 posts)I didn't know that. Oh well, looks like no one is immune to being a corporate whore. (sorry, Mr. Redford - nice try.)
I abhor AMC - they are everything that is wrong with cable TV.

(4,851 posts)Redford was pissed when he got cut out of the IFC cash cow, so he went to Viacom and started Sundance, but it was a partner of Showtime and started as a pay channel. It got purchased by AMC's parent a few years ago, I think in 2008.
All non-premium cable TV is the same. They are all in a dying content delivery medium and trying to milk it all until broadcast and cable die.
