11/22/63 is a novel by Stephen King about a time traveler who attempts to prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy, which occurred on November 22, 1963 (the novel's titular date).
The novel required considerable research to accurately portray the late 1950s and early 1960s.[10] King commented on the amount of research it required, saying "I've never tried to write anything like this before. It was really strange at first, like breaking in a new pair of shoes."
The reviews for 11/22/63 have been generally positive, with The New York Times selecting the novel as one of its top five fiction books of the year and the Las Vegas Review-Journal calling 11/22/63 King's "best novel in more than a decade"

(22,340 posts)I think I got it for a buck or something on 11/22/13 for my Kindle. I didn't know how long it was when I started reading. I read for almost an hour and my Kindle just said I was 2% in. But it was totally worth it. Characters are engaging. Premise is cool. I'm sure these guys will do a nice job.

(30,736 posts)I was in high school when the assassination took place. There is a great deal of historical accuracy in the book, much history that I had forgotten.
The question is, should we get do-overs?
