Couple arrested after Sahuarita gun-violence rally

Two Pima County residents were arrested Saturday during the Sahuarita March for Our Lives rally.

Rally participants called police around 11:15 a.m. to report that a rusty blue truck had passed them twice and the driver had stuck a rifle out the window on the first pass and the passenger had done the same on the second, Sahuarita Police Lt. Sam Almodova said.

The witnesses told officers the truck had a confederate flag and they also provided them with a partial license plate, Almodova said.

An officer recalled running the license plates of a truck matching that description prior to the event and they were able to track down the truck’s occupants later Saturday, he said.
