Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg to speak in Little Rock
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg will deliver a lecture at the Jack Stephens Center on the campus of UA Little Rock at 6:30 p.m., Sept. 3. The event is presented by the Clinton Foundation and the Clinton School of Public Service. Its the latest in the Clinton Schools Frank and Kula Kumpuris Distinguished Lecture series.
President Bill Clinton appointed Ginsburg to the bench in 1993. Especially in recent years, the liberal jurist has become a pop culture icon. RBG, a documentary film profile of her, was a hit in 2018. SNL did a rap tribute to her the same year.
Recent public appearances suggest she wont be shy about talking about the state of the court.
She had two cancerous nodules removed from her left lung late last year. During recuperation, she missed oral arguments for the first time in her career.
RSVP for the lecture here.
UPDATE: The seats have all been filled, but the Clinton Schools Nikolai DiPippa tells me discussions are underway about moving the lecture to a larger venue.
