Tom Cotton versus Mark Pryor for Senate

While I am not particularly fond of Mark Pryor, I am really uneasy about his announced Republican opponent, Tom Cotton. Cotton, who has been hailed as a rising star in the Republican Party, sounds like a libertarian's wet dream. After listening to the president of the University of Arkansas College Republicans praise Rep. Cotton on the TV the other night, I just wanted to

Mark Pryor has done more for us than Bloomberg has ever.
One vote (background checks) is NOT a reason to abandon ship.

Google "corruption of blood". Tom Cotton is a pure bred fascist.

with both Senator Pryor and Congressman Cotton, you are not paying attention. Until we elect people who will represent the interests of our state instead of their party, nothing will change. Is that what you want? Because it's definitely NOT what I want.

Did you not see where I mentioned that I am not particularly fond of Senator Junior? But let's face it, no one's going to challenge him in the primary, or if they do, they will probably be forced out like Bill Halter apparently was in the gubernatorial race.

If I had my dream team of Arkansas politicians, this is what it might look like:

Governor: Dale Bumpers (although I wouldn't mind Winthrop Rockefeller, who did a lot to improve the state's image)
Senators: Bill Fulbright and David Pryor/Dale Bumpers
Representatives: Wilbur Mills, James Trimble

I would also have loved to have seen Bill Halter moving into the governor's mansion in 2015. And I voted for him versus Blanche in both Senate primary elections. I also voted for Mike Hathorne versus Asa Hutchinson in the 2001 special Congressional election, and for Rebekah Kennedy in last year's 3rd district race. Heck, I even voted for Su Sergeant versus John Paul Hammerschmidt in 1986, even though she ran the absolutely worst campaign imaginable.

Our sad state of affairs can also be attributed in part to hate radio, fundamentalist churches, corporate media, voter disinterest and elections being viewed as "beauty contests" rather than events that will have a profound effect on our lives.
