(13,538 posts)I had to load up for a blood drive in just miserable cold rain yesterday but knew it was a good thing. It's now been about three years in a row that August has just been miserable with all the smoke from fires everywhere. You'd think everything that could burn was done but it's not even close!

(23,156 posts)What kind of flooding are you having?

(22,885 posts)I'm always reading that it is most emphatically not over. Three years of deficit will take some making up. But we're on the right track, at least.
No flooding that I'm aware of-- maybe in SoCal but not here

(4,775 posts)I think there will be some rain, a break, then a pounding this weekend (4 to 6 inches forecast for here). Good news! I'm having to put some jute netting down, just finished repairing a hillside fence that washed out from the late December rains, the netting will hold the newly bare soil down through the weekend.
Buckets of rain...

(3,587 posts)... will stay green longer! Yay! I live in the north bay and now that it is light when I'm going home (on my 2 hour commute), I get to see how beautiful the rain has made the area. So green it almost hurts my eyes!
I love the spring time, and the green green hills. And with the rain coming, even though it makes my commute that much more hellish, I welcome the rain.
We have had a good amount of rain, at least once a week over the winter. But we just had something like 10 days without any rain and we were worried that was the end of the seasonal rain. Even if it rained for 30 days straight, they are saying it wouldn't be enough for the drought to be called off, we need 3-4 years of this for that to be true.
