Its actually very very green outside

My this time last year, grasses on the hills were already golden (browning).
I couldn't help myself, I planted annuals and replaced things that died during the drought.
How are you making out where you live?

near RT 223 and Rt 58. On special years the wild flowers grow like a blanket of multiple colors. I am told it is like that now.

General Fremont rode through there in the 1700's and wrote about those wild flowers.

Yep it is a special year. Also the native Americans who lived there ate acorns and a year like this one gave them enough food to store for lean years.

every time I come back from Sac and see the "Caution: High Winds" signs on 80 where it starts its descent into Vallejo, I can't help but wonder why there isn't a battery of windmills there.

If I recall correctly, the idea was dropped because of a Golden Eagle nesting area. Or something like that. I'm hazy on this one.

But we sure do get the wind in the summer.

The hills and mountains are thriving with plant life.
Lush is the word that keeps coming to mind.
Keep it up rainy weather.

Our usual brown hills. El Nino storms have mostly stayed well north of us.
