There, I said it.

(41 posts)She is the more progressive though Sanchez is good too.

(3,316 posts)from my understanding, she's been a great AG
I have friends supporting her as well

(24,263 posts)Although either would be good, I think Harris has Presidential potential one day.
But you'll have to wait until November to see, because I think they will be in the runoff. It's nice knowing this early our next Senator will be a Democrat.

(5,811 posts)MIKE THOMPSON, WOLF and DODD were all endorsed by CA DEM Party so after reading their statements and other info online I went with the state party's recs.
I thought I would struggle to choose between Harris and Sanchez but the latter had some issues - http://latinopoliticsblog.com/2009/06/02/the-making-of-the-%E2%80%9Cloretta-sanchez-scandal%E2%80%9D/

(31,156 posts)They're both my reps too, and while Thompson got my primary vote for lack of any alternative, I voted for Mariko Yamada over Dodd. Yamada is a true dem and progressive and not part of the local oligarchy (yet). I didn't vote for Aguiar-Curry in the primary but I'll have to in the general election. It's either her or Schaupp, the Republican (yuck). That Assembly race bewteen Wolk and Aguiar-Curry got real ugly with all the special interest money pouring in:
Independent expenditures on her behalf totaled $2.5 million, second in the state only to those spent on Dodds Senate campaign.
Special-interest groups, primarily charter-school proponents, oil companies and Realtors, poured money into Aguiar-Currys campaign at a rate never seen before in a local Assembly race. Schaupp noted Tuesday evening that the amount of money spent for each vote he received this year was about 75 cents. For Aguiar-Curry, he said, $160 per vote.
Most of that money was not spent by Aguiar-Curry herself; rather, it was spent by independent expenditure committees over which candidates have no control. That money paid for mailers, phone calls, radio and television ads, social media promotions and more, all of which made Aguiar-Curry a household name in a way none of her opponents could match.

I'll vote Kamala Harris for senate.

(5,811 posts)But in the GE. I will vote for HRC, Harris and every DEM on the ballot. I don't care if they weren't primary choice, I will still vote for them in the GE. I want as many Republicans out of Congress as possible. I consider them terrorists.

I'm a Northern Californian and lean heavily toward Harris.

Me, I'm stuck in that douchebag Dana Rohrenbacher's House district...although he did come out for pot.
Just did some Googling and looks like Lou Correa is looking pretty good for keeping the 46th District blue. http://www.ourcampaigns.com/RaceDetail.html?RaceID=805830 That area has changed a lot demographically, becoming increasingly Latino. The Repubs may have lost the 46th forever.

(10,132 posts)I know a little more about Harris since she's local and did an OK job as San Francisco DA,and her winning wouldn't take a Dem out of Congress, but I would be pleased with either as Senator.

And don't forget Democrat Massie Monroe who discovered "mind control slavery by satellite energy technology weapons."

(6,282 posts)That is the way you get burned.
My guess? Kamala Harris is a wolf in sheep's clothing. At least I know where the others stand. I voted Sanchez, though I am under no illusions that she is a progressive. She did vote against the Iraq War though so...

(9,696 posts)I believe she worked with the NY AG.
She's also made sure the "kill the gays" amendment didn't get on the ballot.
Those are two off the top of my head.

Along with a tiny handful of others , I did indeed go with Elizondo, the Green, but as a "Green Dog Dem" , I'm with Kamala all the way in the fall.
