LA County to settle sheriff whistleblower suit for $1.3M
LOS ANGELES -- A former Los Angeles County sheriff's deputy who testified against her colleagues in a jail abuse scandal will receive nearly $1.3 million to settle her retaliation lawsuit.
The Los Angeles Times (http://lat.ms/2qB7RGF ) says the Board of Supervisors approved the settlement Tuesday.
Tara Adams was a witness in the trial of sheriff's officials charged with trying to hide an FBI informant from his handlers during a probe of abuse in the jail system.
Adams testified that she refused requests to remove the inmate from the jail booking system.
