One of our friends lost everything last night in the Atlas fire by Napa.

Lots of fires burning in Napa, Lake, and Sonoma counties. High winds last night gusted to 60+mph. At least some of the fires started by blown down power lines.

Thoughts and prayers as always, but now off to use my truck to assist in some of the evacuations.

Stay safe out there.

He is so unfit to deal with everything that's going on, it's ridiculous. I feel for all the people being affected by these fires, and I know some of them, too (though no one who's lost everything, so sorry about your friend).

I live in Marin and was awakened at 2:00 by the smell of smoke

Called 911 to report it and found out what was going on.

Thank God the wind died down

I'm so terribly sorry

It's awful - my mother and brother live in Rohnert Park and are ok, although some areas close to them have been evacuated. The smoke is bad, I can't open any windows here in Point Richmond.

Be safe!

There are big fires in so Cal., too.
One in Anaheim Hills, they are saying is suspicious because a fire started in nearly the exact same spot a couple weeks ago.
Sick people.

to your friend.

It's a horrible, awful experience. Your friend should not be surprised if the smell of smoke triggers intense
emotional distress for years to come.

I wish them luck dealing with their insurance company and mortgage holder.

And please be safe as you go to help.

I was lucky. My house will be OK but it will days before I can go back. Will probably be without power for a week.
My sympathies to those who lost homes.

where, exactly, are they burning? I'm at my job in Petaluma and not in the calmest state of mind.
