Dropping down from the Gulf of Alaska, a powerful cold front will blast the Bay Area Friday night with rain so heavy forecasters say it could fall in torrential downpours. The entire San Francisco Bay Area including San Jose and even the Monterey region is under a flash flood watch Friday, with up to 4 inches of rain forecast when it's all over. Wind gusts could top 60 miles per hour over the hills.
"Downed trees, power outages, flooded roadways... expect the same kind of effects we had with the last big storm two weeks ago," said Steve Anderson, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service's Monterey office.
A flash flood watch is in effect Friday 6 p.m. to midnight and a high-wind watch was issued from Friday at 3 p.m. until Saturday morning for the entire San Francisco Bay Area and Central Coast.

Take care folks. Rains begins in the afternoon. If I we're commuting (and could) I'd leave work at noon.

Always thought that was funny (I forget who coined that) but it sure seems to actually work that way! Take care all, hope this translates to lots of snow in the mountains.
