Snow in San Diego!

Everywhere it seems -
There's two feet of snow atop Mt. Laguna
Snow covering the entry sign to Anza Borrego Desert State Park.
Snow on I-8 through Alpine and Pine Valley
Snow in Jamul
Ice covering roadways in parts of the city of San Diego itself and highway 52 in Santee.

It's beautiful to behold -- and COLD!

It's a bit odd seeing snow on palm trees. Friend retired there from Chicago and I tease they brought the snow with them

We have very mild weather here in Switzerland. It's been in the 60s every day for at least a week. The forecast is more of the same.
This is unreal.

Not San Diego. The snow is all at 2000 feet and higher, and no part of the city of San Diego is higher than about 700 feet. Still, it is very much newsworthy, with more snow and at lower elevation than has happened in twenty years or so.

San Diegans crack me up. I'm watching the dog walkers go by my house wearing parkas with fur lined hoods and mittens, their dogs wearing little puffy jackets, and they're wearing short pants and have flip flops on their feet.

It's San Diego's equivalent of the I-5 Grapevine.

But it's turning into a gorgeous day today.
