California Governor Gavin Newsom condemns trump / republican-instigated attacks against Asians

During his statewide shelter-in-place speech tonight, California governor Gavin Newsom concluded with a strong condemnation of the huge increase in assaults against Asian residents.
You think the latest "Chinese Virus" dog whistle being sent out by Trump and the Republicans is harmless? Since it started, there has been a huge increase in attacks against Asians in California and across our nation.
In my life here in San Francisco, I work, live, share, and enjoy friendships & relationships with our large Asian population. Every single one of them is patriotic, hard-working, and committed to living a good life. The United States of America is better because they are here. They do not deserve to be attacked because of what they look like, how they speak, or where they or their family come from.
This is one of the reasons why I'm proud to live here.
