Stop Gov. Brown from changing stray dog law

This email came to me today.

Hi all,

I know many of you have rescued dogs from shelters and so this will hit home for you.

Below is a link to sign the petition to stop Governor Brown from changing the law for homeless shelter pets from four days to three days to save money! These poor animals have a hard enough time getting out of the shelters by adopting people or rescue groups in just four days. Three days is ridiculous. These animals did not create our budget problem and so please please foreward around, sign and help. Governor Brown has a dog too and so this surprises me to no ends. I know rescue groups who work around the clock and barely make four days but manage to save many of these animals. Please please help stop him from signing this petition.

I just signed the petition "The Governor of CA: Do not repeal any provisions of
the Hayden Law" and wanted to see if you could help by adding your name.

Our goal is to reach 10,000 signatures and we need more support. You can read
more and sign the petition here:

Thanks!

Dogs and cats do run away. And people do look for them.

Dogs and cats are found. And people try to find their owners.

I see the signs on lamp posts all the time.

I wonder how well organized the effort to match lost and found dogs and cats is.

Seems to me that a lot of sorrow and a lot of animal shelter money could be saved if there were a number and/or a website that listed all lost and found dogs and cats.

Sort of a Craig's list, a universal Craig's list just for dogs and cats. Lots of people would volunteer to answer the phones I think.
