Fresno, CA homeless need some TP among other things

Several of us in the community have managed to come up with the funding for seven portable toilets at five different homeless encampments in downtown Fresno. Unfortunately, we are out of toilet paper, which is an essential ingredient to keep this operation going. You see, if there is no TP available, people will use clothing and that clogs up the portable toilets. Running out of TP is a bit of an emergency for us and particularly for those who live in or near one of those encampments. If you can help by delivering a case (or as many rolls as you can afford) of TP to the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, 1584 N Van Ness (southeast corner of McKinley and VanNess), we will get it to the encampments.

Your TP contribution will be much appreciated and 100% of it will be delivered directly to the homeless. We can always use contributions to help pay for the portable toilets and trash bins we provide and can assure you that no money is used for administrative or overhead expenses. Every dollar (or roll of toilet paper you give) goes directly to benefit the homeless in Fresno. Donations can be sent to Mike Rhodes, 4773 N Arthur Ave, Fresno Ca 93705. Make checks payable to the Eco Village Project of Fresno, which is a nonprofit 501 c3 organization.

We have also hired several homeless people to deliver the TP, clean the portable toilets, and pick up garbage in the encampments. There are volunteers that drive to the encampments at least once a week to deliver TP and other supplies. If you would like to join the group delivering materials (food, water, TP, and other things) to the homeless, let me know and I will put you in touch with them.

If you are dropping off TP at the Fresno Center for Nonviolence, their office hours are Monday - Friday 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. If that does not work, you can drop off the TP at my house (the address is above).

A new online option for donating to this project is through the Pam Kincaid Memorial Fund. Please go to: http://igg.me/at/kincaidfund to find out more.
