with Xavier I've attended. Always look forward to them because he keeps things moving and the crowd is very well behaved and respectful. Never any teabaggers.

I got there early for a front row seat, and it was a wonderful event. No outbursts, no problems, no teabaggers! It was actually quiet enough when Xavier spoke you could hear a pin drop. He spoke for about 15 minutes on the general state of D.C., then drew names out of a hat with people who had questions. I think about 8 people got to speak, and they had great questions except for one LaRouche guy.

He opened by mentioning only 2 dozen bills have been passed and about $50 million was spent on the 40 votes taken on the ACA. He said we need a different name for "Citizens United" and at least establish full disclosure of donors until the thing is repealed. Speaking on national security/spying, he said "once you give up something, you won't get it back." (4th Amendment).

Xavier feels strongly that something will get done on immigration that will not have us revisiting policy in 10 years, but I don't know about that. Also talked about "Fast Track" and that we need transparency toward fair trade competition.

This guy keeps getting re-elected (20 years in Congress) because he is very responsive to constituents, of which h has 700,000. There are always staffers there to address individual concerns - one lady today is getting help with a medical procedure her insurance company refused to pay for.

Would that all town halls ran as well.
