(23,369 posts)Here, he sounds skeptical and says he is undecided. He also notes the overwhelmingly negative feedback he has received. Since this is my area, I'm not surprised. I know otherwise apolitical people who have contacted him. I predict that he will vote no, because his district is marginal (winning, to my surprise, over old crusty Dan Lungren, whom I personally despise), and he will heed his constituents on this one rather than give the GOP something to attack him on.

(53,339 posts)This appears to be a TPM error. They put Bera in the 'YES" column, sourcing it to HuffPo. But the link they cite goes to a HuffPo page listing Bera as "No/Lean No." And HuffPo's call looks like a real stretch.
Based on Bera's interview and a recent press release, I think you're right about counting him as undecided. I hope you're also right about how Bera ends up voting (I see Republicans are lining up to challenge him--four have declared so far). But for now I'm going to count him as undecided, at least until we hear something more definitive.
Thanks again.

(22,271 posts)Color me surprised. Not. My actual R representative, Nunes, is voting "no." I called his office last week (I had to disinfect my phone later) and told them I do not support the war. They wanted to know my name and somewhere I got in there the area that I lived in and that, since I did have a number of remaining brain cells left I would NEVER vote for a Republican but I felt it my duty, as one of his constituents, to urge a "no" vote.

(9,298 posts)what in the HELL is going on with Xavier Becerra. He's a YES vote. He always votes correctly, and I'm guessing he's kanoodling with Pelosi this time. When I called his L.A. office, the staffer told me he wants to hear more evidence about the chemical weapons. Time to call again.
