An Afghan Woman Speaks Out on Her War Torn Nation

Join us for an evening of conversation with one of Afghanistan's most famous and bravest women: Malalai Joha, author of A Woman Among Warlords, is a former member of Afghanistan's Parliament.

Saturday, October 19, 2013 from 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.

All Saints Episcopal Church, 132 N. Euclid Avenue, Pasadena, CA 91101

Malalai Joya will discuss the following questions:

*Why are Afghan women more vulnerable than ever?

*What is the impact of US drones, bombs and raids?

*What does the end of the US's longest war mean?

*Why is violence increasing after 11 years of war?

Hosted by Sonali Kolhatkar, host of KPFK's Uprising and Co-Director of Afghan Women's Mission

A limited number of Malalai Joya's books will be available for sale at the event.
There will be a book signing following the talk.

I remember reading stories of her when she was in parliment.. she is very brave.

She spoke here in Minneapolis several years ago and was a wonderful speaker. I love her book and it great way to learn about Afghanistan. She needs our support. I bought 4 of her books at a progressive book store her in Minneapolis, "May Day Books" and gave them as gifts.

She was so kind to people who came up to have their book signed. I wish TV news programs would interview here so her view point would get out there.

Try to see her if you can, you won't regret it. And take someone with you.
