Starting a Fresno Move to Amend chapter. 1st meeting 11/22
Friday Nov 22, 2013 at 7 pm at Wesley United Methodist Church 1343 E Barstow Fresno CA 93710 presentation by David Cobb on the origin of "corporate personhood" and "money as free speech" and how the Supreme Court decision Citizens United further legitimized this concept and created the channel to the legitimize the "funding" of these concepts in order to destroy our democracy and turn out country into a 100% full-fledged plutocracy/corporateocracy.
Saturday Nov 23 at 9: 30 am planning meeting to start a Fresno Chapter of Move To Amend. Also at Wesley at the same address as above. Information will be provided about the structure, resources, training and tools available to accomplish these goals from the Move To Amend Organization.
Fresno needs to join the other 20 other CALIFORNIA chapters of Move to Amend so that we can strategize and to create capacity for a 2016 CA ballot initiative so that California becomes the 17th state in the USA to demanding and support a constitutional amendment to rid this country of corporate personhood and money as free speech once and for all.
We need to get our democracy back. The only way to do it is to get corporations out of our elections and reduce the wealthy to one person one vote with no strings attached.
