Tell Governor Brown: Don't frack your legacy
Recently, Governor Brown signed SB 4, a dangerous and misguided bill that green-lights massively expanded fracking in California -- the single largest environmental threat facing our state.
Not only did Governor Brown sign the bill -- taking a big step toward a new era of toxic pollution, water-scarcity and climate-fueled extreme weather in California -- he stomped on the fracking gas pedal, pledging to speed up approval of fracking projects and even bulk-approve multiple projects at the same time, instead of considering their individual risks.
Governor Brown's enthusiastic support of SB4 is starkly hypocritical given his stated commitment to developing clean energy and fighting climate change, and given his achievements during his first term as Governor, promoting energy efficiency, standing up to oil companies, and protecting our coast from offshore drilling.
It seems like Jerry Brown has changed. Unless he does an about face and bans fracking, Governor Brown's risks going down in history as the governor who sacrificed California's precious water and helped Big Oil unleash massive quantities of carbon pollution, even in the face of the growing threat of drought and wildfires.

is the driving force by his $30 billion (and up; cf. high-speed rail) water tunnel.
