Water conservation garden hires new exhibits director
At a time when the state is in an official drought crisis and habitat loss continues to be an issue, a dedicated venue like The Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College in Rancho San Diego seems to be increasingly relevant.
To help continue to spread the message of how to save water while creating and maintaining an environmentally sound and healthy landscape, The Garden has hired University City High alum Clayton Tschudy as director of horticulture and exhibits.
Tschudy, who starts Feb. 17, said he will be managing the gardens while helping to develop them into the future through education, design and plant collections.
"All of the pieces of The Garden work together and are well organized," said Tschudy, who lives in Chula Vista. "The Garden is very well managed already and I want to keep what works while helping move it to a cutting-edge place.
