Camille Russell, Peace Fresno board member writes:
Please take part in this unique opportunity to raise community awareness of the use of unmanned aircraft in today's wars. Tuesday's free movie is a powerful reminder of how these weapons are being used by the United States and why we oppose them. See info below about both events.

This is Day 4. The Drone Project – A Participatory Memorial is emerging in the atrium of the Phebe Conley Art building at CSU Fresno. Artist-in-Residence Joseph DeLappe urges community members to join. CSU Fresno students and staff in producing the life-size sculpture of a General Atomics MQ-1 Unmanned Aerial Vehicle. Next week construction of the sculpture will move to its intended location on the West Lawn of the Conley Art Building. For pictures www.facebook.com/peacefresno.

Listen to Dan Yaseen's interview yesterday with DeLappe and professors associated with the Center of Creativity and the Arts at CSU Fresno, the organizer of the project.

What is LIFE-SIZE for the MQ-1?
Length: 27 ft (8.22 m)
Wingspan: 48.7 ft
Height: 6.9 ft (2.1 m)

This HUGE sculpture will cause students and community to ask questions!! What's that? Why is it here? What is the artist saying? Those of us in the peace community want people questioning the U.S. military – its actions, effects, and costs. 57% of the U.S. discretionary budget is going to the military. Take a minute to sign the NEW PETITION "Move the money out of the military" at www.rootsaction.org.

GET INVOLVED - ALL ARE WELCOME - VOLUNTEER Be a part of the team that builds the sculpture. Artist-in-residence Joseph DeLappe will be working with volunteers to build a life-size, temporary sculpture of a MQ-1 predator drone to remember the lives lost due to unmanned aerial vehicles!
