Covered California Questions

I'm insured through work but some of my families members aren't. Two have done the online filing for Covered California but had to submit some more information and are waiting to hear back. In the meantime I've just read an article about California having seven regional insurers linked to nonprofits and public programs competing on the Covered California exchange. Only when I was helping my cousin file online the only options we saw were Kaiser, Anthem Blue Cross, Blue Shield of California and Health Net. Does anyone have anymore info on these nonprofits?

region your cousin is in. You get a different provider mix in different counties or zip codes.

Here's a brochure listing all the Health Insurance Companies on Covered California
and the specific regions they cover:
https://www.coveredca.com/PDFs/English/booklets/CC-health-plans-booklet-rev2.pdf

There are 12 companies in total on the exchange:
1. Alameda Alliance for Health
2. Anthem Blue Cross of California
3. Blue Shield of California
4. Chinese Community Health Plan
5. Contra Costa Health Plan
6. Health Net
7. Kaiser Permanente
8. L.A. Care Health Plan
9. Molina Healthcare
10. Sharp Health Plan
11. Valley Health Plan
12. Western Health Advantage
