Monterey's KRXA becomes online-only, AM station sold

According to its morning host. KRXA is now broadcasting online via RadioMonterey.com though, an advantage of being a non-corporate, independently owned station. The AM 540 station though is now a Spanish-language religious format.

Which means the only commercial progressive talk stations in California (with shows like Thom Hartmann etc.) are 1480 KGOE Eureka and 1450 KPTR Palm Springs. When it comes to progressive radio in this state, non commercial is the way to go like the Pacifica stations in SF and LA.

That's one of the reasons many of us truly miss KGO (despite some of its right wing programming) and its 50,000 watt flamethrower signal that reaches everywhere!
