Driver seriously injures woman during Zombie Walk

SAN DIEGO (AP) — A driver struck and seriously injured a woman while fleeing from angry members of the annual Zombie Walk held during Comic-Con, police said.

The 48-year-old driver and his family, who are all deaf, had waited for several minutes at a downtown intersection Saturday as a large crowd taking part in the walk, including some in zombie makeup, went by at around 5:30 p.m., Officer David Stafford said.

However, when small children in the car became frightened of the crowd, the driver rolled slowly forward to get through, Stafford said.

Some crowd members became angry, surrounded the car, pounded on it, climbed on it and smashed the windshield, he said.

What difference does it make that the driver and passengers were deaf? KamaAina Jul 2014 #2

...have the same world view or motives, and might have other needs and perceptions.

OK, zombie walk people, who from Wikipedia, participate in

an organized public gathering of people who dress up in zombie costumes. Participants usually meet in an urban center and make their way around the city streets and public spaces (or a series of taverns in the case of a zombie pub crawl) in an orderly fashion. Zombie walks can be organized simply for entertainment or with a purpose, such as setting a world record or promoting a charitable cause. Originating in North America, zombie walks have occurred throughout the world.

...did you ever think that someone might not know about this ...uh, interesting...uh, peculiar behavior of yours, and might have an urgent need to pass through your "organized entertainment, record attempt, or 'charitable' activity" because of an emergency - such as getting someone to a hospital, or calming a hot, frightened child (children), or who knows what else that was going on in their life???? or that persons with this urgent need might have a disability which would contribute to their sense of urgency? Did you ever think that if you waited 30 seconds to let the car pass through your parade, a potential accident might be avoided at little cost to your personal enjoyment of 'zombie walking'.? Did you have authorization to block traffic on the streets, and plans to provide assistance to people who needed to avoid your personal entertainment? NO??? Then you are accessories to this accident and should be subject to equal legal consequences after you
