San Jose gang task force goes after... a bus stop.

Yes, a bus stop. Seems the Bus Rapid transit (BRT) line being built in east San Jose has a stop near San Jose High School, the oldest in the city. And San Jose High's colors are crimson and gray.

At a VTA board meeting last night, I learned this that color scheme is disapproved of by the city's gang task force, because red and blue are the colors of the two main rival gangs in the city. What's that, you say? Crimson isn't the same as red? Well, some schools on the East Side have cracked down on pink because it's supposedly a shade of red!

Meanwhile, VTA has just rolled out a fleet of express buses nicelty decked out in... (drum roll, please ) crimson and gray.
