https://heavy.com/news/2020/05/white-house-lock-down-protest-video/
Protestors demanding justice following the death of George Floyd made their way toward The White House on Friday. The protest started at U street in northwest Washington, D.C. at 5 p.m. local time, but after the large crowd made their way toward 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, Chief Political Correspondent for Sinclair Broadcast Group, Scott Thuman, tweeted at 7:30 p.m. that The White House was going into lockdown.
The large protest taking place in the nations capital on May 29 was just one of many happening around the nation. On Friday, people gathered in Louisville, Los Angeles, New York, Denver, Pheonix, Memphis, and Columbus in reaction to Floyd, a black man who was killed in Minneapolis when a police officer, Derek Chauvin, knelt on his neck while three other officers stood by watching.
As The White House went into lockdown, NPR correspondent Tamara Keith reported that many were reporters stuck inside. She said, A law enforcement officer was brought into the grounds in distress to have his eyes washed.'
WTOP digital reporter Alejandro Alvarez tweeted, A protester tried to jump the construction fence in Lafayette Park. Secret Service chased him into the march, threw him on the ground then led him away. Bottles thrown. Alvarez then tweeted, Crowd calling for a medic at the foot of the Treasury Annex where Secret Service carried their detainee. Theyre worried he has a concussion. From the brief glimpse I got of him, he had blood dripping down his forehead.

Demonstrators In D.C. Gather To Protest Death Of George Floyd

This story was updated at 11:03 p.m.
Hundreds of demonstrators moved through D.C. Friday night, marching, chanting, holding a vigil, and, at one point, blocking highway traffic. They join a nationwide outpouring of rage and grief over the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after a Minneapolis police officer was captured on video pressing a knee on his neck until he became unresponsive.
The demonstrators, many of them wearing masks and standing apart from each other, initially gathered at 14th Street NW and U Street before marching toward the White House. They held signs with statements like Justice 4 George Floyd and Police Brutality Must Stop! They chanted No justice, no peace! and I cant breathe!
{snip}
In front of the White House, protesters clashed with law enforcement officials, who attempted to clear the area and maintain a barrier. At least two people have been arrested.

Every last one of you knows a crooked cop and you do nothing because youre fucking cowards, a man yells at the Secret Service. Youre complicit. Another protester chimes in: Fix the broken system.
People have managed to toss over the temporary barricades, theyre being pushed back by the Secret Service. More police arriving. Heating up fast outside the White Houses north lawn.

I don't know what the USSS is supposed to do about police in Minneapolis.

about cultural issues across many cities nationwide. Justice Dept can provide policy guidance to city police departments.

Trump slams White House protesters as 'just there to cause trouble' as DC mayor defends city
By Kevin Liptak, Noah Broder and Brian Todd, CNN
Updated 12:52 PM ET, Sat May 30, 2020
(CNN) -- After a night of protests and racial unrest in US cities, President Donald Trump used Saturday morning messages to declare himself safe inside the White House, lash out at a Democratic mayor and raise the prospect of another demonstration with his supporters later in the day.
In a series of tweets, Trump commended the US Secret Service for protecting him inside his fortified mansion on Friday evening as protesters gathered outside over the death of George Floyd. The President suggested that dogs and weaponry were waiting inside the gates.
Calling the protests organized and a disservice to the cause of racial justice, Trump insinuated that his own supporters might stage their own rally in front of the White House on Saturday evening, a volatile suggestion at a fraught national moment.
In his messages, Trump did not seek to lower the temperature or console Americans who find themselves facing parallel health and racial crises.

Trump Assails Bowser After White House Protests Over George Floyds Death
Rachel Sadon
After a night of intense protests outside the White House over the death of George Floyd, D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser traded sharp barbs with President Donald Trump.
In a series of tweets, the president praised the Secret Service and claimed that protesters would have been met by ominous weapons and vicious dogs if they had breached the White House fencewhile calling out Bowser personally and claiming that she wouldnt let the Metropolitan Police Department get involved.
{snip}
The Secret Service and U.S. Park Police have jurisdiction over the areas in front of the White House. Its not clear what, if anything, the administration asked of the D.C. police force, which was visibly present at other points in the protests. The mayors office did not respond to an immediate request for comment.
But in a four-part response from her personal Twitter account, Bowser said that My police department will always protect DC and all who are in it.
{snip}
Without proof, Trump went after protesters elsewhere and those in front of the White House as organized groups and professionally managed so-called protesters,' claiming they had little to do with Floyds death. He also appeared to be calling on his own supporters to gather, writing Tonight, I understand, is MAGA NIGHT AT THE WHITE HOUSE???
Meanwhile, Bowserwho called on the city to exercise restraintresponded saying that while he hides behind his fence afraid/alone, I stand w/ people peacefully exercising their First Amendment Right after the murder of #GeorgeFloyd & hundreds of years of institutional racism.
