Good news, bike nerds and hipsters, you can now bring your bikes on MARC weekend trains!
Yesterday, the Maryland Transit Administration announced that they've added a full-size bike car to MARC Train weekend service—which began service a year ago—for cyclists to bring their bikes on the train. According to a release, the new bike car will be attached to certain Penn Line trains between the Martin State Airport, Baltimore, and D.C. That car can hold up to 16 bikes, but MTA says it can be "expanded to accommodate up to 26 full-size bicycles."
You can start bringing your bikes on MARC trains tomorrow and, if the demand service is high, the MTA says they may add a second bike car sometime in 2015.
