St Pete mayoral race results.

74 of 92 precincts reporting. Challenger Rick Kriseman (D) has 55%....incumbent Bill Foster (R) 45%. Looks like St Pete is going to have a new mayor! Turnout seems to be low.

being gay even entered into the races. St. Pete has come a long way and is a pretty decent place to live for the most part.

"Gay" wasn't an issue at all during elections...pro or con. Outgoing mayor is an anti-gay fundy...he was pretty disdainful to gay pride parade and such. He was so far removed from community sentiment that he had no leadership qualities on any issues. Time to go. The city as a whole is pretty much an ambivilent "so what?" inre gays. The only remaining anti-gay sentiment is in outlying suburbs of next door Hillsborough County...Fundy-land.
