Precourt turns down top job at expressway authority

Former state Rep. Steve Precourt today turned down an offer to run Orlando's toll road agency on a monthly basis.

Precourt said he felt the contract was violation of the original deal offered to him.

Precourt initially balked when the proposal was made Wednesday by the board of the Orlando Orange County Expressway Authority, saying that being a temporary hire would weaken his leadership abilities.

But he later said he would consider the bid, which would pay him more than $15,000 a month. He also would receive one-month's pay if he were fired.

What a politico gift-horse. He does not even meet (let alone exceed) their own HR written job requirements for the position. Simply amazing. Yet I cannot get a stinking simple permit from the city without ten friggin hearings / variances all due to a constant on the fly moving target spec that does not exist, yet these bozo's can ignore all required paper trails everyone esle has to (not too mention the decades of corrupt business practices prior).

Classic: "I am grateful to have worked alongside such esteemed men and women," Precourt said in a prepared statement. "Working to establish fiscally conservative policies, reinforcing limited government, protecting the unborn, and standing for religious freedom were some of my proudest moments." Translation: This gig is much more coin and with less scrutiny, I am out of here! A civil engineer by trade, Precourt still retains an interest in the engineering firm Dyer, Riddle, Mills and Precourt, which has earned several million dollars from the agency in recent years. Yeah, I dont see any potential conflicts at all. Sort of like Scott transferring ownership of his drug testing company into his wifes name as they were short listed for the contract for drug testing of welfare recipients.
