Jack Abramoff, one of the nation's most notorious lobbyists, is returning to Florida to speak in Tallahassee Nov. 16 and 17 about The Corrupting Influence of Money on Public Policy, at a events hosted by Conservatives for Energy Freedom.
Abramoff, a former Washington lobbyist whose corruption conviction brought down Republicans in the White House, Congress, and the D.C. lobbying corps, pleaded guilty in Miami on Jan. 3, 2006 to conspiracy, fraud, and tax evasion on charges stemming from his lobbying activities in Washington on behalf of Native American tribes. A day later, he pleaded guilty to conspiracy and wire fraud arising from a 2000 deal to buy SunCruz Casinos from Fort Lauderdale's Gus Boulis.

(135,425 posts)ANYONE and ANY political party can triangulate. Sometimes the sinner is the best preacher, he reaches the masses more readily than those who have travelled the straight and narrow all their life.
There are people on both sides of the political divide who take issue with the corrupting influence of money. If he strikes a chord, we'll be seeing more of him.
