2. My grandson worked in the deli department (most stressful place to work in Publix) -

a different Publix. He said that customers could be astoundingly rude. One woman lunged over the counter and tried to slap him because there were no wings ready and she would have to wait seven minutes, another one called him a pathetic idiot because he refused to ring up chicken breasts as cheaper wings. Everything that happens in the deli is recorded, because customers will do stuff like that and then go to the front desk and complain about the workers. So they can get free food. They get the food, but the managers check the recordings to see if they were lying. Usually they are lying.

He works in the front part of a different Publix now, and was told by a customer that he was either retarded or making fun of her when he told her he did not know what "Coors Light" was. We don't drink beer (he could have found her any sort of wine, ahem) but since he does not watch TV he does not see beer commercials.
