I am scheduled to see a doctor for medical marijuana but I smoked

some, (for the first time in 35 years!) last Friday. It worked really well, especially for a chronic stomach condition that causes great pain.

It occurred to me that they may test my urine. If they find pot in it will they not write a prescription?

Is this something that would disqualify me and should I wait until it is out of my system.

Also I've seen products that are supposed to clean you out, should I try one of them? I really did not smoke much because I was scared.

1. I don't know how reliable they are, but there are drug tests you can do at home

that are similar to pregnancy tests. Maybe check yourself before your appointment.

I've been told that some of the clean up kits are detectable because they remove substances from urine that are expected to be found.

I have no personal experience with either of these products, so I can't really give a recommendation.

2. It seems reasonable that you would be self-medicating prior to getting your prescription.

I can't imagine it would disqualify you for it. Maybe someone in Florida knows.

they'd have to understand that you've done your own "research" and you know that you'll respond to it. My rheumatologist is very cool with how open I am about my use and he has said that as soon as he's cannabis certified that he'll sign me a recommendation.

Just be honest with them.

3. If it comes up you can say you visited friends in Colorado or Oregon, maybe Vegas.

It's legal in Nevada now too, so you tried it out while there.
