Today's Florida Unemployment Anger Management thread.

Last edited Tue Apr 7, 2020, 11:53 AM - Edit history (5)

So TODAY the recording that answers before the DEO's busy signal had a BRITISH ACCENT according to my wife. I am sure that has a calming effect on all the people who have been fucked over, under, sideways, down, and up the ass by this system for weeks now.

Last night on the late news a local TV station announced they had a link to a paper application on their website. The station's website briefly crashed right after that; but BEFORE MIDNIGHT a paper application emerged from our printer! It is strange that I don't trust these incompetent right-wing MOFOs to ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING with a completed application but the act of filling it out should give my poor wife a feeling of ACTUALLY HAVING DONE SOMETHING BESIDES CALLING A DEAD NUMBER ON THE PHONE UMPTEEN TIMES A DAY.

So, before the day is out, the six page document, duly completed, under penalty of all sorts of shit, will go out in the mail so they can lose, damage or find some other way of deep sixing the thing for the glory of Florida's numbers and businesses.

NOW, WHEN ARE THESE REPUBLICAN FUCKS GOING TO REIMBURSE US FOR THE PAPER, INK AND POSTAGE? Not to mention hours and hours of dialing, keying, etc.

Thank you Prick Scott and Gov. DiMented.

UPDATE: The paper form is full of traps for the unwary. For example, there are questions with what appear to be check boxes in front of them, but the instructions say to put a "Y" or "N" after the question. There is another page that appears to apply only to people who've had more that one employer in the last 18 months but it calls for a SSN in the upper right corner, the instructions say people who have had more than one employer in the last 18 months should "submit a supplement" leaving one to wonder whether that page should be sent or not. Most importantly IMHO- NOWHERE DOES THE FORM ASK ABOUT PAYMENT INFORMATION SUCH AS BANK ROUTING NUMBER. It does mention being paid by a debit card if you choose to but there is no way to indicate such a choice.

All in all, this is a clusterfuck by choice. They are beneath contempt.

Added update. The instructions say to fill in both sides, like everyone has a printer that can make two-sided copies.

Are they all newsmax / fox whores or is there some honest local reporting on what caused this?

I've seen some national stories on how the system was intentionally designed to fail by scott. But I'm not sure how visible those stories would be locally. You kind of have to look to find them.

The only way to change FL politically is to wrap this dead fish around their necks in public.

I don't know where I would get a dead fish, virtually all access to the water is blocked.

...you may be eligible for one of the lowest maximum weekly benefits in the country at $275 per.
Only Alabama (also $275) and Arizona (a whopping $240) are at or below Florida's benefits.

which I expected, but it made me eligible for Wisconsin Unemployment of $550 a week way back then, when it was REALLY cheap to live here.
