New 45 minute test for Covid. (mine took 13 days.)
AdventHealth's hospitals in their West Florida Division, which includes Highlands County, will now be providing rapid testing for COVID-19. The FDA has authorized the use of the Cepheid Xpert Xpress SARS-CoV-2 device for rapid laboratory testing. This testing device is standard in all AdventHealth West Florida Division hospitals and can rapidly detect COVID-19 in approximately 45 minutes.
The new testing will be launched in two phases. The first phase will begin immediately at AdventHealth Tampa, AdventHealth Ocala and AdventHealth Sebring. Phase two will take place in the remaining hospitals in the Division and be implemented by the end of April. The new test can still only be implemented with an order from your doctor.
