Our beautiful valley is on fire

This evening evacuation orders were changing every 15 minutes. The city of Hailey has not been evacuated but I am ready.

1. It's going to be a long night if you're in danger of needing to bug out

I would probably have the car packed and just go, probably hard to do if you've got large animals.

Just remember that western forests need those fires. They didn't get them for a lot of misguided decades of fire suppression and the forests are now sick. Fire is what will heal them.

It's just really tough on people who have gotten used to forest beauty.

my daughter called me about an hour ago and said she was out with as much as she could get in her car... (she lives in Hailey)

she had been on a short break to Montana and got word on the way home... all of you stay safe
