Chicago billionaire to buy Wrigley Building for $255 million
Chicago billionaire Joe Mansueto has a deal to buy the Wrigley Building, one of the city’s most recognizable properties, for $255 million.
Mansueto, the founder and former CEO of investment research firm Morningstar, is buying the Michigan Avenue landmark from a venture that includes BDT Capital Partners and Zeller Realty Group, according to sources.
The price is about $255 million — or almost eight times the $33 million that the property last sold for in 2011, sources said.
The building, with connected towers at 400 and 410 N. Michigan Ave. along the Chicago River, has about 472,000 square feet combined.
