Don't get me started on Haney. His choice was someone who was *not* likely to run for re-election. Hite-Ross was the obvious choice - she's a competent litigator and unbiased.

in some scandal before he was chair of the county board? I can't remember the details and I can't find anything.

I'd have to do some research but it won't be a moment too soon when he's gone. And gone permanently from politics.

Sadly, the new county clerk of Winnebago County yet another poor choice. Best case is she steps down sooner than later, she has no clue what it takes to run a smooth election. If voters had read her response to the media AND thought about it, they'd have realized she was full of excrement. There are not vast numbers of former county clerk employees to which to talk. She's a micro manger. An MBA is not a plus in the public sector IMHO. And said MBA is just a piece of paper she obtained just prior to running for clerk. Were it not for a faction of elderly farmers who knew her parents, she'd not have been elected.

and not in a positive way. It seems like too many people are questioning her every move.

Is it because she is black and a woman? She seems to be standing her ground.
