Iowa couple revealed as major funders behind anti-tax PAC

One little Iowa campaign finance mystery appears to have been solved.

Recent filings show that the major funders this year for Iowans for Tax Relief, a prominent political action committee and lobbying outfit, are none other than the group’s chairman, David M. Stanley, and his wife, Jean Leu Stanley, of Muscatine.

David Stanley, an ultra-conservative former Iowa Senate majority leader, is an heir to the Stanley engineering consulting and office furniture fortune, reportedly one of the largest family fortunes in Iowa.

Iowans for Tax Relief, known as ITR, for years has collected hundreds of thousands of dollars in anonymous donations from shadowy trusts called the “American Freedom Trust,” the “Trust for Taxpayer Defense” and the “Iowa Public Interest Trust.”

The Stanleys have long been an "anti tax" group. Except they don't really want tax cuts, at least not for me. Just for them.

2.5% of the people in the US losing their crap health insurance are now for the first time in their lives getting help from the GOP (Guardians Of Privilege). The GOP wants to make sure they have to keep their crap health insurance.
