False active shooter reports send police to Wichita and Topeka high schools

"Out of nowhere, it was just a cop. He just comes in the room with a gun. I'm like, wow. So we all got quiet. Like the whole class got quiet," said Villa.
Just before 2 o'clock, police swarmed North High School after a call of an active shooter.
"Where there's the possibility of people actively being killed, we respond as fast as we can and do our best," said Lt. Dale Mattern with the Wichita Police Department.
WPS Safety Director Terri Moses says the on-site School Resource Officer made it to the room where the shooter supposedly was within just 60 seconds.
"He determined that there was nothing there. And at that point made the decision there was no reason, of course, to go on lockdown because there was nothing that occurred," said Moses.
