in the Great Lakes Huron, Michigan, Erie, and Ontario, and in other states where these fish seem to be considered an "invasive species" that, as climate change progresses, cause reduction of other freshwater species favored by sportsman that alewives consume and beach also die-off events requiring expensive removal.
