'Today, Senator Mikulski gave her farewell speech on the Senate Floor.
From her start as a social worker in Baltimore to her unparalleled career in the Congress, Senator Mikulski has spent her life fighting for Maryland families. Her steadfast dedication to constituent service and to those working for progress on the community level have been an inspiration throughout my own career. I could not be more honored to succeed her next year in the U.S. Senate, and I will work every day to carry on her legacy and move Maryland forward.
