'President Trump's executive order on Obama climate rules is the most recent example of Team Trump saying ‘No’ to Facts; and ‘No’ to science. Despite the rhetoric, the truth is that carbon standards are not the cause of declining coal mining jobs — cheap natural gas and job automation are the primary factors. And reversing EPA climate rules won’t move up the date we reach full energy independence (estimated at less than a decade away). If Team Trump wants to accelerate energy independence they should put the pedal to the metal on renewable energy, energy efficiency, and gas mileage standards. These are the real world facts, not alternative facts.'
