I'm blanking out on the name of the Italian restaurant I went to over near Cordell, St. Elmo, and other streets (i.e., a bit of a hike, but not too much of one, a few streets over).

As it happens, a few places I used to go have closed, and of course I'm not going to recommend Mamma Lucia's (Nothing against it, but I assume you are thinking something other than the usual).

Have been over there twice since I asked, and ended up finding a nice little bistro next to cinema. Its Mon Ami Gabi, and was able to hang around there between movies, eating hors d'oeuvres (only $6/per!) and drinking wine. Went AGAIN today!

If you think of the name of yours, do let me know, please!

...a half dozen of which are in the area I mentioned. Oh, well.

As for the rest, I like Faryab, the Afghan place over on Cordell, and I go to Haandi, the Indian restaurant on Fairmont.

Closer to Bethesda Row, I seem to recall Cafe Deluxe was good.

and went to one with my cousins a few years ago, but as cousin has passed, I can't ask. As to Afghan and Indian, as my friend is Pakistani and does much of the cooking around here, I was looking for OTHER!!!

Will look at Cafe Deluxe next time we go.
