I happen to love the E Street Cinema down in the District, and when I can I drop in at the AFI Silver Theatre in Silver Spring or to the Avalon near Chevy Chase Circle, but I'm curious about other DUers' preferences. Where do you go when you want to see a first-run movie, attend a film festival, or catch the screening of a vintage classic?

(287 posts)cinema in Hagerstown. They are so well-priced and if you do the dinner and a movie option you get the super comfy reclining seats and if you're cold they give you a blankey.

(287 posts)I would definitely do the dinner and a movie option your first time 'cause that's the best experience. The regular showings don't include food and don't always offer reclining chairs.

(130,865 posts)but recently discovered Bethesda Row. Have never been to AFI tho SHOULD have. And like E Street too, been there twice. It was
'around the corner' from my many years office, but didn't attend at that time.
