Montgomery leaders push, but there's little sign Maryland will give the county

a mass vaccination site.

'Montgomery County Council President Tom Hucker says the state's largest jurisdiction -- the place with the most COVID-19 deaths -- deserves a mass vaccination site.

Some people living in Maryland's largest -- and, by some measures, most diverse -- jurisdiction are fuming.

Montgomery County doesn't have a mass vaccination site of its own, and it seems unlikely it will be getting one anytime soon. That, despite the fact that the county has had the most COVID-19 deaths -- although Prince George's County has more cases. . .

County officials say they have the perfect spot for a mass vaccination site at Montgomery College's Germantown Campus. . .

It's close to many working class essential workers, and a far shorter ride on public transportation . . . .

"The governor's plan, as it's been established is a complete slap in the face to seniors and essential workers, most of them Black and brown seniors, and essential workers," County Council President Tom Hucker, a Democrat whose District 5 encompasses Eastern Montgomery County, said.'>>>
