from Donna Edwards, 'This is ridiculous.'

Last week, an article came out in the Washington Post talking about our campaign. Here's my favorite line:

"Donna has always kind of been her own woman -- she wasn't someone who would pal around at party events with our donors..."
Someone said that. Like it's a bad thing. Like it's a bad thing that I don't spend most of my time with big money donors at swanky fundraisers, or trying to cozy up with the establishment insiders for more power.

This is ridiculous. Elections should be about who has the best ideas, not who has the most rich friends.

January 17th will officially be 100 days until Election Day. Will you help me raise $15,000 by then to show all the insiders and big money donors we're not backing down? Pitch in $100 or more and prove progressives can win with grassroots support from working people:

If you've saved your payment information with ActBlue Express, your donation will go through immediately:

Click to donate $100. >>> https://secure.actblue.com/contribute/page/donnaedwards_email?refcode=em20160113-D&amounts=100,200,300,400,1000,2000

Now, $15,000 won't match the hundreds of thousands these big donors can raise for candidates who do their bidding, but it sends a message that we will not back down. And it will ensure our campaign has the resources we need to win.

I've spent my time working for the people and listening to working families, and big-money, establishment donors don't like that. In fact, they want to send a message in this campaign that you can't win without their big checks.

Why? Because then they have no control over you. They can't come to you when their company wants a tax break or their hand-picked special interest needs a favor.

I want you to know where I stand and who I'm working for -- that's why I took a pledge to reject donations from the Wall Street banks that crashed our economy. I work for the people, no one else.

If you agree that big money donors should not decide this election, I need you to give $100 or more now. We are coming down to the wire, and progressives only win when we all stand together.

Thank you for being a part of this,

Donna
