Do you watch NECN? I miss Jim Braude.

The new host(S) of this program are dull and, I feel, sometimes biased.

I've tried to watch many times since Jim moved on. It is not the same, or even similar.
I understand Jim is with PBS but I can't seem to find the program. Anyone know? Is he just radio now or does he have a TV show on PBS?

He took Emily Rooney's place. Emily is still on Friday at 7, "Beat the Press" roundtable.

NECN is turning too right-wing for me.

2. Well, it's COMCAST, and they're no friend to the common man or woman...!

PBS, too--GWBush seeded that agency with a bunch of upper and middle management cretins who will poison the well for years.

4. That's where he WAS...he bailed out, to PBS! (WGBH, specifically, which is slightly better...)

He co-hosts, with Margery Eagan of Boston Public Radio, a midday talk show on WGBH radio. The pair formerly hosted the Jim & Margery Show talk show on WTKK, before that station became a music station in January 2013.
He also hosted Broadside with Jim Braude on New England Cable News (NECN). In mid-January 2015, he announced his departure from NECN.[5]
On January 22, 2015, he was named as the executive editor and host of WGBH News local television news and analysis program, Greater Boston, replacing long-time host Emily Rooney.[6]

6. They are more of a friend to the common man or woman than the parent organization, but only just.

And COMCAST, also no friend to the common man or woman, which got NECN when the "big changeover" took place, helped the cable news station lean even more to the right.

This could be why JB shifted. Or maybe NECN didn't want to pay him, because they could get younger talent for cheaper.

As for Comcast=dirty word. I can afford only basic cable. My selections are so bad that I don't watch TV other than the NECN news AM and PM. I'd rather read a good book!

older ones like it. It does keep the peace and it's an effective babysitter! If I ever get to the point where I've fully "divested," though, I think I'll go a la carte. Already I watch a lot of overseas programming via the net, as well as stuff from Amazon Prime. One of our family has a netflix account, too, and you can get a lot of material that way. And when I'm up in the woods of Maine, where I can get three stations on an antennae (four if you count a really crappy one--horrible reception, it's basically ABC programming, pretty much-- from Canada that goes in/out) I use the REDBOX!

I take your point about the good books! I've gotten back into reading after a bit of a hiatus and I realized how much I miss it!

My list would be short. as of now, I have so few channels and most are either home shopping, foreign language or just plain dumb. But, aren't I lucky, I have FOX news. (barf)

get HULU, perhaps, maybe HBO to Go if there's anything good on, and dig around for other offers, and use my AMAZON PRIME and internet streaming more vigorously.
