Unemployment question

I've been on unemployment for a year as a self-employed person whose business disappeared due to Covid.

I also have done one job for one client and earned the big payment of $85.

Two other clients have recently emailed me asking if I'm still available --- and their jobs are usually not small.

Do I report the $85? And do they cut me off or just deduct that amount from my UI check?

Thanks in advance.

I believe they deduct the money. But it extends you UC employment. LakeArenal Mar 2021 #1

You should report it, but it might not necessarily impact your benefits FBaggins Mar 2021 #3

At least that’s how it worked in Bush’s recession.

You are not cut off. Benefits cease when you find gainful employment or the term of the benefits.

Earnings up to 20% of your weekly benefit won't impact what you receive (at least where federal benefits are concerned). Anything above that will reduce the benefit dollar-for-dollar.
