Heads Up: The Pendulum Has Swung: Future of Progressive Talk Radio Is - On the Web

"On Thursday, May 23, nationally syndicated talk radio personality Ed Schultz confirmed what many hosts of Progressive Talk Radio already knew. The Future of Progressive Talk Radio is On the Web.

Specifically, traditional radio as we knew it will be available via a On-Demand format.

Whether the syndication point of streaming content is on iTunes, Stitcher On-Demand Radio, Soundcloud or Tune-It In, turning on the old car radio to find a perfect frequency for a FM or AM Radio Station of choice will be sooner than later -- a thing of the past. Similar to a time capsule

I haven't been very forceful on this issue but ceding terrestrial broadcast is beyond stupid. Not everyone has internet service.
Terrestrial broadcast is that lowest common denominator. Pretty much everyone has and can afford a radio to receive it and you don't have to pay monthly fees to keep it working.
Walking away from broadcast is like walking away from half the people who need to hear your message.
Sadly most of my information comes from independent sources that are only available in small markets or on the internet.
If I didn't have the internet, my world would be as small and uninformed as a Faux Snooze viewer.

Like Vinyl records 8 Tracks and DVD Players. The future of Progressive Radio is on the Web and it is indeed free if folks are willing to download simple Apps that are free like iTunes, Stitcher and Soundcloud. Excuses are one thing if folks are not connected to the internet at all BUT if you are on DU, you are indeed connected to the internet.

Talk Radio and especially Progressive Talk Radio on Traditional Airwaves is a dying breed. It's going to the internet where the revenue, listening audience and growth is at. Either one comes along for the ride or be left behind to listen in with Rush, Hannity and company. And that is the truth.
